MORE ABOUT AGAPI
AGAPI Cyprus is a non-profit organisation supporting people of all ages who are facing difficult circumstances in Cyprus. Our work is practical, community-based and centred on dignity. We support vulnerable families, children, refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, low-income households and elderly people who may be experiencing financial hardship, isolation or a lack of practical support. Older people are an important part of the community we want to serve. Some may need help with essential items, while others may simply need greater connection, inclusion and opportunities to participate in community life.
AGAPI aims not only to respond to material needs, but also to help reduce isolation and strengthen the sense that elderly people remain valued and included members of our community. Depending on available resources, AGAPI provides clothing, shoes, baby items, food and other essential goods. We also offer guidance, social support and referrals to appropriate organisations and services when someone needs assistance beyond what we can provide directly. We believe that support should always be offered with dignity, respect and without discrimination, regardless of a person’s age, background, nationality, race or religion.
Donations to AGAPI help us continue this work. They contribute towards the essential costs of collecting, storing and distributing donated goods, maintaining our facilities and services, organising community and social-inclusion activities, and responding to practical needs as they arise. AGAPI normally provides support through goods, services and practical assistance rather than direct cash payments to beneficiaries. We are a small organisation working closely with volunteers and members of the local community. Every contribution, regardless of size, helps us continue providing a place where families, individuals and elderly people can turn for practical help, guidance and human connection. You can support AGAPI by donating, volunteering, donating useful items or simply sharing our work with others.
“We walk with the poor regardless of race or religion.”
